A 46-year-old man was killed Friday in a drive-by in Cragin on the North Side.

About 8:05 p.m., the man was driving a truck northbound in the 5100 block of West Belmont Avenue when someone inside a black SUV fired shots at him, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Community First Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest but was later pronounced dead, police said.

Though he has yet to be identified, the Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled the man’s death a homicide, saying in an autopsy Saturday that he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate the shooting.
